Meet the Team Join the Optics Operations team in developing component test software solutions and infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations across the globe. You will work with cross-functional teams including Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to enable reliable, scalable, and maintainable test solutions. Your Impact As a test system software developer, you will: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot test system control software for optical component test processes. Diagnose and resolve issues involving test software, fixtures, instrumentation, and device behavior. Analyze test processes to make software-based cycle-time improvements through data-driven, regression-tested methods. Analyze test data, investigate trends and failures, and document results in support of quality and production readiness. Drive continuous improvement in test software architecture, maintainability, reuse, and operator effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field. 3+ years of experience developing or supporting automated test systems in a manufacturing, NPI, or design-verification environment. Strong experience with Python for test software development, including instrument control, data acquisition, calibration, and test automation. Familiarity with lab instruments used in optical/electrical test environments, such as optical power meters, attenuators, switches, laser sources, etc. Source-control skills using either Git, SVN, or Perforce. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing test software for coherent optical/transceiver products or similar photonics hardware. Any experience with NI LabVIEW/TestStand for test software development, including instrument control, data acquisition, calibration, and test automation. Experience supporting production test stations, sustaining engineering, or global manufacturing. Experience developing DVT, characterization, regression, or manufacturing test plans. Knowledge of calibration methods, gage R&R, and yield improvement analysis. Why Cisco? For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid. The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below: New York City Metro Area: $152,400.00 - $255,100.00 Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $134,300.00 - $224,800.00 * For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined. ** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
