Job Title: Test Engineer - Mechanical / Fire Suppression Systems
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time. Mon - Fri 8-4

BSI have a new an exciting opportunity to join our Testing Laboratories in Hemel Hempstead, working as a Test Engineer within our Fire Suppression team.
About the Role:
This role offers real diversity and variety across a wide range of products and tasks, working within our testing labs and would be the perfect role for an engineer looking to apply their technical ability in a client focused role. To be successful in this role you’ll need the skills to build relationships with our clients, understand their requirements and then deliver this work autonomously.
Strong communication and project management skills are at the heart of this role. You’ll have constant interaction and engagement with clients at a variety of levels, from technicians to Directors.
You’ll be managing multiple projects so strong project management skills are a must. With this you’ll need to use your strong interpersonal skills to confidently present findings to our clients about their products. Suitable candidates for this role could include fire detection/alarm engineers or candidates from a relative fire detection device manufacturing environment.
As part of the responsibilities for this position, there will be an expectation to conduct travel both within the UK & Overseas to perform off-site witness testing at client locations. This would typically form 10-20% of your time and may include travel outside of normal working hours.
Candidates will need to hold a full UK drivers licence and valid passport (or be willing to apply for their passport).
