Do you want to play a key role in the quality of our software products? As a Medior Test Engineer at DHL eCommerce Benelux, you ensure that our systems are robust, reliable and ready for the future. In this role you combine technical depth with overview and direction. You work in an agile environment on business-critical applications that are used daily by thousands of colleagues and customers.

This is what you're going to do As a Medior Test Engineer you are responsible for the entire test process within complex projects. You design test strategies, manage quality and guide colleagues in the testing process. You ensure that our operational systems meet high functional and non-functional requirements. Thanks to your efforts, releases will be rolled out more stable, faster and with fewer risks.

  • Your tasks include:Drawing up test strategies, test plans and test cases based on requirements;
  • Carrying out manual and automated tests (regression, performance, integration/full chain);
  • Identifying quality risks and advising on priorities and Go/No-Go decisions;
  • Guiding colleagues within the test team and contributing to knowledge sharing;
  • Analyzing test results and reporting to stakeholders and management.

You work closely with developers, analysts, engineers and product owners in a multidisciplinary Scrum team.

  • What do we work with?To ensure the quality of our software, we use modern tools and techniques such as:Test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman or similar;
  • CI/CD integration via Azure DevOps or similar pipelines;
  • Java, Scala and React as the main programming and front-end technologies;
  • Agile testing methods and frameworks (Scrum, BDD, TMAP/ISTQB);
  • Version control with Git;
  • Monitoring & logging for regression analysis and quality assurance.


Your new workplace Your location is the DHL eCommerce head office in Utrecht, where you are part of the Digital department. You report hierarchically to the Test Manager or Head of Digital. Within your team you work together with other test engineers, developers and specialists, and you have contact with colleagues from throughout the Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg). You do not provide leadership yourself, but coach and guide where necessary.

This is you You are an experienced tester who works independently, sharply analyzes risks and knows how to structurally increase test quality. You feel at home in agile teams, think in solutions and know how to involve others in a quality-driven approach.

  • You also bring:A completed HBO or WO education in Computer Science or Software Engineering;
  • At least 2 years of experience with software testing, part of which in an agile environment;
  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD integration;
  • Experience with Java and/or SQL in a test context is an advantage;
  • ISTQB Foundation or TMAP certification (or willing to obtain it);
  • Proactive attitude, eye for detail, strong communication skills.
