Salary: circa £31,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience + fantastic benefits
Jisc grade: TDV2 (internal use only)
Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You will be able to demonstrate experience of designing and executing QA test scripts (mainly using the GHERKIN method).
  • The Test Engineer will have demonstratable experience of scripting skills and experience in programming languages like Apex, Java, Python, or equivalent.
  • You will demonstrate experience of maintaining documentation of test plans, test cases and test results.
  • You will be have familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, or similar.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in software testing and QA automation (Copado preferred).

If you have the following

  • Administration experience of development and testing of Salesforce CRM Lightning, Service Cloud and CPQ.
  • Experience of development and testing of D365.
  • Copado Robotic Testing.
  • Web services and integration tools such as MuleSoft.
  • BI tools such as Tableau and Einstein Analytics

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is within the Group CTO directorate. We develop new products to meet the needs of our members now and in the future, and provide technology leadership within the organisation and to our members and customers. Most of Jisc’s technical resource and capability sits within our directorate, allowing us to focus on delivering Jisc’s digital vision for members and customers.
Within Group CTO directorate, there are a number of teams and this role is within Workplace IT, in the Assurance Team. This team is responsible for developing and establishing standards, guidelines, and procedures to prevent future quality issues and maintain the integrity of the IT Product or Service going forward.
This role involves working closely with the development and product teams to understand requirements, create test plans, and develop automated test scripts. You will have a strong background in software testing, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for quality assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • To produce requirements and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and test cases.
  • You will design and develop automated test scripts using Copado Robot Framework and related tools.
  • To develop and maintain test environments to support test execution.
  • To execute manual and automated tests, record test results, and report defects in the defect tracking system.
  • You will perform regression testing and re-testing of defects to ensure issues are resolved and collaborate with developers and product managers to reproduce, analyse, and resolve defects.
  • Assist developers with the writing, amending and running of automated tests.
