THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON THE SUCCESSFUL AWARD OF THE ASSOCIATED CONTRACT.

Founded in 2008, OPTiMO is an experienced consulting firm specializing in world-class, enterprise-level application development, system integration and digital design. Our clients span the public and private sectors, and we strive for excellence both in our design work and service to our clients.
We are looking to add an experienced Test Engineer II to our team.
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a favorable fitness determination for a Federal Public Trust Clearance.

In this role the Test Engineer II is responsible for working with developers, product managers, and the government client to ensure the functionality, reliability, accessibility, and security of all development solutions and supporting infrastructure. The Test Engineer II is responsible for:

  • Developing thorough test plans for systems to ensure a smooth transition from the development environment to the production environment, including test case creation and execution to validate end-to-end system functionality.
  • Developing and performing functional testing that includes manual and automated testing as well as non-functional testing that includes system integration testing, load and performance testing, independent validation and verification services, and accessibility testing.
  • Creating automated scripts and reports to evaluate and calculate the amount of code coverage for each release.
  • Policy and guidance support for Section 508/WCAG compliance
  • Design accessibility-focused test cases/plans
  • Subject Matter Expert on accessibility tools/techniques, etc
  • Providing accessibility testing to maintain and exceed accessibility compliance requirements:

o Section 508

o WCAG 2.2 level A and level AA

  • Ensuring that the user experience is intuitive, accessible, and aligns with the needs of both end-users and stakeholders
  • Reporting on testing for each deliverable, detailing:

o Who performed the test(s)
o Qualifications of the tester (e.g., Trusted Tester certification)
o When the testing was performed
o What equipment (software and hardware) were used for the testing
o What, specifically, they were testing (e.g. user stories represented in Azure DevOps or JIRA tickets)
o What accessibility issues were found
The Test Engineer II should have experience in consistently meeting deadlines in an interactive environment that includes daily communication with developers and business users.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.

o 4 additional years of relevant experience (above 1 to 4 minimum requirement) will be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • 1 to 4 years’(minimum) experience with:

o SaaS cloud applications
o Power Platform
o Test Plan, Test Case, Test Script development and execution
o Test Automation (i.e., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman API, Rest Assured)
o Test Management tools (i.e., JIRA/Zephyr)
o Load and Performance Testing (Neoload, Jmeter, Playwright)
o Independent Validation and Verification Services
o Accessibility Testing
o DevOps
o Integrated QA and QC services
o SDLC framework and Agile methodology
o Conducting functional, regression, accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG 2.2 A & AA), performance, and integration testing
o Manual accessibility testing, including use of JAWS, NVDA, and other screen reader tools
o Evaluating designs, code, and products for accessibility throughout an agile software development lifecycle.

o Proficient with automated accessibility testing tools such as axeDev, Wave, Lighthouse

  • Effectively communicate findings and remediation recommendations.
  • Provide accessibility testing and implementation support
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies
  • Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products
  • Write, execute, and report status for system test cases
  • Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing testing expertise to support user requirements for complex to highly complex software and hardware applications
  • Direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection
  • Work with small teams in dynamic environments, with high client interaction
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Identify and facilitate issue resolution with functional and technical teams
  • Document and communicate test results
  • Conduct demonstrations and trainings to support the system users
  • Participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test methodologies (regression, functional, integration, performance, accessibility, etc.)
  • Interact with business users, business analysts and systems analysts to understand requirements and enhancement requests
  • Experience with automated, accessibility, performance, and API testing tools
  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing
