Description
Test Planning and Development: Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and procedures based on system requirements and specifications. Coordinate and execute tests for hardware, software, and integrated systems supporting advanced air platform technologies. Test Execution and Data Collection: Perform functional, performance, and stress testing in laboratory and operational environments (e.g., Hardware-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, flight tests). Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to evaluate system performance and identify gaps or defects. System Validation and Operational Readiness: Validate system functionality, including sensors, communications, avionics, and mission systems, ensuring readiness for operational deployments. Conduct regression testing to confirm software and hardware updates meet requirements without introducing new issues. Defect Identification and Resolution: Troubleshoot system failures and document test discrepancies, working with cross-functional teams to develop solutions. Track corrective actions and risks to ensure all issues are resolved prior to system delivery. Compliance and Integration: Ensure test procedures align with DoD testing standards, frameworks, and cybersecurity requirements (e.g., RMF, MIL-STD). Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to address system integration challenges and ensure seamless operation across subsystems. Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and deliver technical reports, test summaries, and presentation materials for program leadership, engineers, and stakeholders. Maintain test records and configuration management to support system sustainment and compliance auditing. Required Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience as a Test Engineer or in a related role within aerospace, defense, or high-tech systems. Experience designing test procedures for complex hardware and software systems, particularly in DoD environments. Familiarity with test equipment and tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, simulation environments). Strong understanding of data acquisition methods and analytics for troubleshooting system performance issues. Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI. Experience in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) or Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL) testing environments.
Responsibilities
