Test Engineer

You’ll be joining one of our agile scrum teams to build and enhance the originations journeys our customers use to open new accounts with Nationwide.
Our originations applications are the first thing many of our customers see. So to work on them you will need a keen eye for detail and you won’t be afraid to speak up with suggestions and/or improvements.

For this job you’ll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you’ll spend 40% of your working time, at either our Swindon, Bournemouth, London or Northampton office. ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you to have demonstratable experience in the following areas:

• Understanding of test automation and exploratory testing techniques
• A proactive, inquisitive nature – always looking for the long-term solution
• Production of test evidence and associated artefacts to support quality
• Functional and Non-functional Testing
• JavaScript coding ability to support the creation and maintenance of automation framework

Technical expertise including:

• Knowledge of different database solutions and how to query their contents
• Hands-on experience working with a range of testing and relevant tools including:WebdriverIO - NodeJS, Selenium, Postman, JIRA, Confluence, GIT, Cucumber, BDD Jenkins and cloud & Kubernetes experience etc

You recognise the importance of working on code as a team – reviewing each other’s work, developing best practice, and collaborating on designs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Harnessing your experience of software testing techniques and technologies you’ll be working within an agile team to design, test and support the applications our customers use to apply for our products, e.g. personal loans.
As someone who collaborates well with others, you’ll be working with other engineers, experts in experience design, application security and resilience to create intuitive, performant, and secure originations journeys for our customers.
