SKILLS:

  • Interact easily with multiple EB engineering and design departments
  • Multi-task and manage technical projects
  • Professionally represent EB when interacting with US Navy personnel and industry partners with integrity and commitment to excellence
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information
  • Function both independently and within a team environment, and be able to facilitate internal and external team meetings with self-sufficiency
  • Proficiently write and edit items in in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be proficient in the use and understanding of SPARS, 7G, ELCADD, ATIS and Task Group Instructions (TGIs)
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical & electrical diagrams in order to properly tag-out systems for safe work execution
  • Must have trade technical background in order to properly execute testing, and be able to properly perform an adequate pre-job brief prior to conducting testing
  • Must possess strong public speaking skills in order to present status of work to large audiences that may include EB management, shipyard personnel, and ship’s force personnel
  • Must be detail oriented and organized in order to properly coordinate work in a complex matrix environment, while ensuring all test detail requirements are met and adhered to
  • Must have working experience on Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs) – SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW-SFCC

Responsibilities
  • Determining workload and test priorities based on project schedules managed by Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead(s).
  • Determining & managing the acquisition and maintenance of departmental test equipment.
  • Developing Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) to conduct work on ship’s systems in accordance with Ship Alteration (ShipAlt) Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and verification that work boundaries are safely isolated and tagged out IAW Tag-out User’s Manual (TUM).
  • Maintaining qualifications & training, while also ensuring that all work onboard assigned ships is conducted safely and in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and EB policies & procedures
  • Perform collateral duties as needed to support work as an off-site department such as Work Package Control (WPC), deck plate surveillances, and quality review of technical work documents (TWDs).
  • Coordinating work & testing amongst various on-site EB trades, supervision, and senior management. There will also be extensive coordination between shipyard and ship’s force personnel
