Role: Test Engineer - PPE Equipment
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Salary: Circa £30,600 plus excellent benefits

BSI has a fantastic opportunity for a Test Engineer to join us at our Hemel Hempstead testing laboratory, working within our PPE testing team.
Our Personal Safety Team works primarily with PPE across the key areas of - Respiratory, Latex, Headwear and Eyewear. In this role you will be responsible for testing a variety of Headwear & Eyewear products to ensure that they conform to the required safety and quality standards.
You’ll need to be able to operate the test machinery (including the ability to resolve day to day maintenance issues) record detailed testing results and also liaise with clients to advise the outcome of their product testing.

About You

• A drive for self-development is key as you’ll be given the opportunity to develop technical skills to work across a wide variety of laboratories, equipment and standards or client bespoke requirements.
• Ideally, you will have previous experience as a test engineer - or have worked in a mechanical discipline and/or have a Mechanical Engineering qualification
• You’ll be able to build relationships with clients, understand their requirements and then deliver this work autonomously. You’ll also have strong interpersonal skills to confidently liaise with clients, and advise on the status of work to facilitate premier customer service and on-time delivery on all work and projects.
• You’ll be resourceful, solutions orientated, proactive and flexible, and hold great attention to detail.
• If you have knowledge of Lean culture, it will prove beneficial.
