TEST ENGINEER

  • This is a key technical role within our Operations Team.
  • You will join a leading international IT solution company that genuinely cares and values its people.
  • The position is full-time – Canberra-based.
    We are seeking a Tester to join our Canberra team to ensure the integrity of software solutions under development. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will be responsible for testing our solutions under development with the goal of providing assurance risks are accurately quantified and addressed.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We prefer that you bring a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Software Tester, with a good understanding of software testing methodologies and practices. For us, that means: Having excellent attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow test plans and test cases. Having strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and isolate software defects effectively. And lastly, having good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
It is, furthermore, desirable if you have relevant certifications in software testing, such as the ISTQB.
Lastly, bringing experience within Agile development methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in workshops to provide testing inputs and assess the required effort to understand the requirements, write test cases, executing and document results.
  • Develop test cases and test procedures to confirm system features are correctly implemented.
  • Execute tests according to test cases and plans, including in simulated environments and scenarios.
  • Monitor defects and retest as needed.
  • Produce reports on test progress, test results, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in and contribute to scheduled planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
