Description
Verily’s Test Engineering team ensures the quality, reliability and safety of products that advance precision health. As a critical bridge between engineering, product and operations, Test Engineers design and execute strategies that validate complex multi-system workflows at scale. The role offers the challenge of working across diverse healthcare and life sciences domains, crafting robust testing solutions that directly contribute to Verily’s mission of improving human health through technology and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive end-to-end test plans for complex, multi-system features, ensuring they meet functional, performance and compliance requirements before release.
  • Drive integration and end-to-end testing coordinating testing efforts across multiple teams and components, ensuring sustainable test automation coverage across releases.
  • Analyse test results, track and report defects, failures and noted behaviors, and collaborate closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers (SWEs) and cross-functional stakeholders to, resolve issues, identify risks early and ensure robust test coverage.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for test planning, executing and defect triage, and maintain documentation of test results and processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvements, and advocate for quality across the product lifecycle to prevent defects before they occur.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 5+ years of experience in software testing, including designing and executing test strategies for complex, multi-component systems.
  • Strong knowledge of software quality principles, testing methodologies and defect management processes, and ability to analyze system designs and requirements to identify potential risks.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Cypress), scripting languages (Typescript, Go, Python), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Github actions).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving quality strategy and test planning for cross-team, multi-quarter initiatives.
  • Experience with GCP, Kubernetes and using AI for test automation.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide other test engineers or software developers in testing best practices.
  • Experience with regulated industries or compliance-related testing (e.g: healthcare).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make trade-off decisions in ambiguous or fast-changing environments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000 - $155,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
