Description
We are looking for a Test Engineer - Vision Systems (Camera/Sensor) for a company in Jönköping. Start is January 12th, 1 year contract to begin with. Assignment Description: The organization is advancing autonomous lawn care through cutting-edge vision technologies. The Automower® is already world-leading, and the focus is now on expanding capabilities with new sensors, lenses, and AI-driven modules. To support this, the Perception Project team is looking for a Test Engineer (2–3 years’ related experience). This is a hands-on role focused on testing vision systems in real-world conditions. The work will primarily take place outdoors, recording video sequences, validating new sensors and lenses, and analyzing data to support both development and AI model training. The role also involves developing new automated regression tests to ensure that vision modules reflect reality and receive quick feedback with each AI module change. Collaboration with developers is an important part of the role, including prioritizing issues from the field and other departments, designing new tests, and contributing to continuous improvement. The collected data will be used to train and test AI models, and the insights provided will help shape future autonomous features. The position spans both residential gardens and professional environments, with future opportunities to collect data from Automowers in specific scenarios and locations around the world. Tasks: Record and analyze video sequences to support training and testing AI models. Test and validate new sensors and lenses in outdoor environments. Mark and document areas where vision systems fail or underperform. Handle issues reported from the field and internal departments, discuss with development, and help prioritize fixes. Design, build, and execute tests based on real-world feedback. Design, build, and execute new automated regression tests. Required skills: 2–3 years of hands-on experience with vision systems such as cameras, LiDAR, or similar sensors. ISTQB certification or equivalent testing knowledge. Experience with HIL systems or building and maintaining test rigs. Familiarity with sensor validation, image or video data analysis, and related tools. Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python) and a solid understanding of test automation frameworks. Strong analytical and observational skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate test results. Effective communication and teamwork skills. A valid driver’s license – some outdoor testing will require travel to test sites.
