  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Java and Cucumber.
  • Strong knowledge of Selenium or Playwright for UI automation.
  • Proven experience writing test cases using Gherkin syntax.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Familiarity with the HR or background checking domain is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
  • Clear and confident communicator with a collaborative approach.
Responsibilities

At Zellis, we deliver market-leading payroll and HR software, and we’re proud of the difference our solutions make to organisations across the UK and Ireland. We’re now looking for a skilled Test Engineer to join our Zellis Background Checking (ZBC) product team in Peterborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a growing and innovative solution that plays a vital role in helping organisations make safer, smarter hiring decisions.
This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work remotely with two collaborative days in our Peterborough office.

You’ll be an integral part of the ZBC engineering team, ensuring high-quality software delivery through robust and efficient automated testing. Collaborating with engineers, product specialists, and QA leads, you’ll play a key role in developing, improving, and maintaining test automation frameworks to support our continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases aligned with business requirements.
  • Monitor and improve existing test suites to enhance product reliability and performance.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of test results and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to ensure coverage of all customer requirements.
  • Use Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage test tasks, bugs, and regressions efficiently.
  • Actively contribute to regression planning and test case documentation.
  • Champion agile testing principles and CI/CD best practices across the team.
