The Boeing Company is looking for a Test and Evaluation Lab Technician to join our team in Tukwila, WA supporting the Noise Laboratory team for all Commercial and Defense & Space products.
Up to 10% travel per year by flight to remote test locations, foreign and domestic, for two or more weeks at a time may be required to support program objectives. Extended shifts, weekend support and non-1st shift work could be occasionally required to support program objectives.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level and Senior Test and Evaluation Lab Technicians.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • An Associate’s Degree or higher, a Technical Certificate of degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing & able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience supporting laboratory and/or flight testing
  • Familiarity with audio assessment software such as audacity, sound forge, etc.
  • Familiarity with equipment calibration and standardization
  • Knowledge of experimental testing for noise and vibration
  • Experience with sound and vibration instrumentation, such as: microphones, bridge transducers, accelerometers, encoders/tachometers, IRIG-B generators
  • Experience with Hottinger Brüel & Kjær Pulse/Connect
Responsibilities
  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Performs detailed review, organization, and processing of datasets to ensure accuracy of information to support certification and guarantees for business partners
  • Works with a variety of instrumentation and sensors including: instrumentation-grade microphones, accelerometers, pressure transducers, and other sensors
  • Operates test equipment like signal analyzers, voltmeters, etc. using fundamental knowledge of best test and measurement practices
  • Maintains test logs with pertinent test information including test item identification, test equipment and instrumentation, transducer locations and orientations, personnel and other information concerning the testing
  • Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
  • Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems
