We have an exciting opportunity within our R&D Team for a Test Lab Technician based in Kendal, Castle Mills, this a busy and rewarding environment and a great opportunity to develop your career within Anord Mardix. The role is split roughly 40/60 between hands on test setup and office-based preparation, monitoring and analysis of testing.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, highly organised with excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Should demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Use of Microsoft software (Outlook / Word / Excel).
  • Must possess the ability to manage priorities, working accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment.
  • Understanding of laboratory practices including calibration and uncertainty of measurement would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of temperature measurement methodology would be an advantage.
  • Ideally FLT trained.

Responsibilities

    • Carrying out the Test Lab Processes o PF-03 Testing

    • PF-03-1-DX Testing PF-03-1-HX Testing
    • PF-03-2 Switchgear Testing
    • PF-03-3 TOU Testing
    • Testing activities include
    • o Installation of Switchgear / IBAR / Databar / Tap-off unit test assemblies and preparation for heat rise testing to relevant Industrial standards.
    • o Using Megga DLRO10HD for resistance measurements.
    • o Install the thermocouples to the test assemblies and connect the datalogger.
    • o Monitor the test, record and report any anomalies to the test lab manager.
    • o Ensuring all safeguards are in place before making any test live (door locks and barriers). o Safely power-up, shut down and isolate after a test is complete.
    • o File all test data in the job folders.
    • o Adjust and modify test assembly set-up as required.
    • Maintain compliance with procedural requirements and best practice for safety, health and environmental factors associated with testing operations.
    • Maintain and support 5S standards within the Test Lab.
    • Work directly with R&D and associated product development teams during development of test modifications.
    • Supporting the delivery of a variety of other testing & technical activities as assigned. * Support the scheduling and prioritisation of test programs.
