Role: Test Manager / Program Manager – Testing to lead the testing function for a large, complex and high-profile program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall testing leadership, strategy, governance and delivery oversight across multiple workstreams. This role requires a senior testing professional who can operate confidently at a program and senior stakeholder level, manage complex testing environments, and lead large cross-functional teams through end-to-end testing delivery.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing testing across large-scale transformation programs, with strong capabilities in test strategy, planning, governance, stakeholder management, risk management, reporting and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the overall testing function across a large and complex program involving multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Develop, own and execute the overall Test Strategy and Test Management approach for the program.
• Establish testing frameworks, processes, governance and ways of working across the program.
• Lead end-to-end testing activities including:
o System Testing
o System Integration Testing (SIT)
o Regression Testing
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
o Performance / Load Testing
o Integration and component testing
o Production readiness and release validation
• Provide senior-level oversight of test planning, execution, defect management and quality assurance.
• Establish appropriate testing metrics, dashboards and reporting to provide transparent visibility to program leadership and stakeholders.
• Track and manage testing risks, issues, dependencies and defects, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
• Work closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, Business stakeholders, Product teams, Technology teams, Delivery teams and vendors.
• Translate high-level business and program requirements into appropriate test strategies, test plans and execution approaches.
• Manage and mentor testing teams, including test leads, test analysts, automation engineers and other QA resources.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple teams and concurrent delivery streams.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on:
o Test progress
o Defect trends
o Quality metrics
o Risks and issues
o Test coverage
o Readiness for release
• Drive continuous improvement across testing processes, methodologies and delivery practices.
• Ensure testing activities align with program timelines, quality expectations and delivery milestones.
• Facilitate testing governance forums, stakeholder meetings and quality reviews.
• Work with technical teams to identify opportunities for test automation, performance testing and improved testing infrastructure.
