Overview Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician - Battery Abuse to perform the testing efforts on battery cells and systems developed for key account projects in our Burton, MI lab. As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of performance, durability and abuse of battery tests for the transportation industry, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards. The dynamic energy storage space is growing and Element is committed to leading the charge on ensuring that our battery systems are making tomorrow safer than today. Responsibilities Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of testing based on test plans for battery cells, modules, and packs Operate and maintain battery testing equipment and facilities Analyze test data, identify performance trends, and report findings to the engineering team Manage documentation and reporting of test processes and outcomes Skills / Qualifications Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or active coursework in related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing or a related field Experience with test equipment and data analysis tools preferred Familiarity with standards: UN 38.3, SAE J2464, IEC 6619, 62620, 62619, UL 2054, 2580, 1642 a plus Knowledge of battery technology and industry testing standards Strong organizational and analytical skills #LI-TF1 Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
