Description
The Test Technician I will perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on single phase and three phase medium voltage UPS systems In this function you will: You will exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. You will read electronic schematics to ensure products meet defined specifications You will report any Non-conformance items by utilizing our Quality Management Guidelines You will recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost effectiveness You will communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues You will check maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards You will identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment You will use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required A minimum of one year of work experience in electronics with testing and troubleshooting skills No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 - mile radius of Raleigh, NC will be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Associate's Degree in electronics from an accredited school Position Criteria: Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations; electrical and electronic devices Demonstrated ability to take and give direction Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to make informed decisions Ability to communicate effectively across all levels Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or electronic schematics Ability to completely test and troubleshoot electronic products Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to distinguish colored wiring Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
