Description The primary responsibility of a Tester is to test remanufactured steering gears, perform evaluation tests on warranty claims; troubleshoot and analyze customer claims. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 “ S ” standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts Perform point test on test stand for both remanufactured and warranty units of all models Pretest warranty, diagnose problem, repair and communicate technical information to the warranty and quality control departments Input data entry transactions and retrieve information by accessing the computer Maintain a clean work station and retrieve materials as needed Other duties as assigned; cross-training is required to ensure flexibility in daily job assignments CORE COMPETENCIES: Action oriented: Demonstrates ability to take action and lead by example. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. Adequate hearing protection is required for 85 decibels and above. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED One Year Experience in production/manufacturing environment Ability to interpret and comprehend plans and/or blueprints Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles Ability to work overtime as needed both daily and weekends
