Summary:
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is currently in search of a part-time proctor for the Testing Center. The Testing Center proctor is primarily responsible for ensuring that students with disabilities receive their approved accommodations and maintaining academic integrity in the testing environment. The work schedule will be from 10:45 am to 5pm Mondays through Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters with all observed holidays, winter break, spring break, and summer semester off.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer all exams for students with disabilities who have approved testing accommodations.
  • Ensure that all exams are proctored in a manner that provides each student the opportunity to complete their exam with respect to specific protocols provided by the professor.
  • Ensure that all exams are proctored in a manner that is consistent with the student’s approved exam accommodations and instructions from professor/instructor.
  • Manage admission in and out of the Testing Center.
  • Communicate with faculty regarding clarification of exam administration instructions.
  • Report any violation of academic integrity or irregularities impacting test administration quality to SAS staff.
  • Maintain a secure testing environment with minimal distractions, including regular security checks of the testing environment and utilizing exam monitoring security software.
  • Assist with basic technical support related to technology used in the Testing Center prior to and during testing.
  • Explain exam expectations to test takers based on specific instructions received by faculty such as allowable and prohibited items during the test.
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect all testing materials.
  • Preserve the confidentiality of all student information and testing materials.
  • Complete administrative duties as needed to support the Testing Center and SAS. This may include responding to phone and email inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Must be available to work assigned work hours to support Testing Center activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to succeed in this position.
  • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills to maintain a welcoming testing environment.
  • Possess solid judgment and decision-making abilities enough to recognize if there is a problem and communicating with SAS staff for support in addressing the problem.
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time during exam administrations.
  • Basic computer and iPad skills.
