As a Testing Specialist, you will take full ownership of the strategic test plan, ensuring that testing activities are aligned with business goals and project timelines. You will define and manage testing strategies across all phases—including system integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)—and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution. You will be responsible for managing the testing lifecycle end-to-end: from planning and preparing test collateral, to overseeing defect management, validating outcomes, and reporting on test metrics. Your role will be central to ensuring that testing supports key deliverables and mitigates risk across the programme.
You will lead and guide testers, manage testing environments, and evaluate release readiness based on clearly defined criteria. You will also ensure that all testing issues are tracked, resolved, and communicated effectively. Your ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams and maintain oversight of all testing activities will be critical to the success of the project. Additionally, you will contribute to training and mentoring new testers, helping to build capability and consistency across the team. This role requires a strategic mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to quality assurance.

To be successful as a Testing Specialist, you should have experience with:

  • Proven experience in leading end-to-end testing strategies, including system integration and UAT, with ownership of test planning and execution.
  • Coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple workstreams and ensure alignment.
  • Expertise in test documentation, defect management, and reporting, with a focus on quality and risk mitigation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues. .
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
