Rosenberger North America is an innovative global leader in radio frequency technology with an international presence. Our products are used in wireless technology, telecom, test & measurement, automotive, medical, military, industrial and data systems. We are currently seeking a Testing Technician to join our team in Akron, PA.
The Testing Technician provides technical support to Rosenberger’s Engineering, Quality and Production departments. In this role, the Technician will be engaged in function testing of products in all stages (from prototype to serial production). The Technician will carry out, evaluate and document results of performance tests using precision electrical and High Frequency laboratory test equipment. This role is also responsible for RF and High Voltage test equipment and their associated hardware.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in a technical discipline (mechanical or electrical engineering) preferred.
• Formal apprenticeship or five (5) years of equivalent training.
• 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in process improvement for manufacturing.
• Knowledge of basic measuring devices (calipers, micrometer, multimeter) required.
• Knowledge of electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, continuity tester) preferred.
• Experience in hand soldering of electrical components and/or Printed Circuit Boards is required.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
• Ability to work as part of cross-functional team.
• Ability to come up with creative solutions to new design and machining challenges.
• Ability to reason through and identify root cause of manufacturing-related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions of the Job:Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Setup and operate RF test equipment in Production and Test Lab (Network Analyzers, Intermodulation Testers, RF Fault Analyzers); develop and maintain their test programs and procedures.
• Assist Engineering in assembling technical documentation (processes and procedures, application notes and instructions); provide mechanical and electrical performance test reports.
• Analyze test failures, provide support to Process Engineering, Quality and Production in root cause analysis.
• Verify, troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on RF test hardware (calibration kits, test ports, adapters and terminations).
• Maintain inventory of test adapters, DWV / HiPot Tester Modules and Test Leads. Perform / assist in module and test lead repair.
• Communicate in oral or written with various internal customers (Sales, Engineering, Process Engineering) to obtain and provide required technical information.
• Assist in Continuous Improvement projects (New Product Introductions, Research & Development), as well as legacy product improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to providing technical support to Production and other departments.
