Description
The ideal candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in one or more key areas supported by the Water Management practice, such as climate adaptation and disaster resilience, water resources management, dam and reservoir safety, coastal or watershed management, resilient infrastructure design and engineering, collaborative project delivery, asset and enterprise risk and resilience, funding and implementation strategies, disaster recovery, emergency management, and stormwater resilience. They will have hands-on experience working with state and federally funded programs, particularly at the state and local government level, with familiarity in navigating agencies such as the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for HUD CDBG-DR/MIT programs, the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) for FEMA PA/HMA/HMGP, and the Texas Water Development Board. A strong understanding of regional dynamics and cultural nuances is essential, along with a proven track record in business development and client management. The candidate should be able to clearly articulate the strategic value of Water Management services to a wide range of stakeholders, including municipal, utility, state, federal, and private sector executives. Demonstrated success in securing business and cultivating lasting client relationships is key, as is recognition for effective team collaboration, interpersonal skills, and leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including proficiency in presentations and report preparation. The role also requires a willingness and ability to travel. Minimum of 12 years of consulting delivery experience with an environmental engineering or management consulting firm, or equivalent experience with a large municipal utility. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., Planning, Economics, Engineering, Business, Management, Science, Data Analytics, Quality, Technology). 15+ years of consulting delivery experience with an environmental engineering or management consulting firm or equivalent experience. M.S. in an applicable field. Professional certification such as Professional Engineer, Certified Planner, or Project Management Professional.
