The University of Virginia’s College at Wise is accepting applications for a Textbook/Retail Associate. Retail Operations employees perform a wide variety of duties in University retail stores. Responsibilities include textbook management, merchandising, managing inventory, ordering products, assisting customers, and operating cash registers. Work is assigned at the task level, and they work under direct supervision. Job Description Management of the textbook program, including working with faculty to obtain textbook orders. Greet and offer assistance to customers. Recognize levels of stock on sales floor and replenish accordingly. Continually fix and neaten sales floor area and replace tags as directed. Respond to customer inquiries on the sales floor and on the telephone. Receive designated purchase orders and daily transfers. Keep stockroom clean, safe, and well organized. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Additional Job Description MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: None Licensure: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position will require the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. This position will require extensive use of computers and cash registers, so experience with technology and Microsoft software is important. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
