WHAT YOU’LL BRING ( QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE )

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Chemistry, Materials Science, Fashion/Apparel Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development roles within the fashion, activewear, medical, or technical textile sectors.
  • Strong k nowledge of textile manufacturing methods and softgood integrat ion methods (e.g., knitting, braiding, coating, finishing , US and RF welding, bonding, seam taping , laminating , thermoforming, shaping, integrating different textiles together, overmoulding with plastics ).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate materials research into functional, manufacturable product components.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships both internally across teams and departments, and externally with partners
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Textile Engineer, you ’ll take the lead in investigating textile materials and manufacturing processes to develop softgoods for medical product applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience. With a keen understanding of material behavio u r and a strong user-centered mindset, you will bring your textile expertise to design challenges - translating ideas into functional, manufacturable solutions.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • D esign and develop softgood concepts , applying your knowledge of materials (fibers, yarns, fabrics, foams) and knowledge of textile manufacturing & integration methods (welding, bonding, taping, overmoulding , thermoforming, wrapping, etc . )
  • Investigate, prototype, and evaluate new materials and softgood concepts to support goals around comfort, durability, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal manufacturing specialists to optimize designs for functionality, aesthetics, and scalable production.
  • Develop techno logy to ensur e textile materials and processes are feasible for mass manufacturing.

LET’S TALK ABOUT KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilise Design Thinking to navigate the discovery and delivery process
  • Working closely with a wider team on the design and development of mask hardware products, ensuring seamless integration of form and function.
  • Ideation, conduct feasibility studies, create prototypes, and perform rigorous testing to validate design concepts.
  • Stay current with softgoods industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Design, prototype, and evaluate textiles for new product concepts, leveraging both conventional and emerging processes (e.g., weaving, knitting, lamination, ultrasonic welding, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to define material specifications and ensure manufacturability.
  • Drive intellectual property creation when developing novel material or process innovations.
