Curl Kitchen Salon is seeking licensed hair stylists who are passionate about healthy, textured (wavy, curly, kinky-curly) natural hair. We’re the only Natural Hair Salon located in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood. We’re a natural hair speakeasy with over 1800 square feet dedicated to Natural and Curly hair. Curl Kitchen Salon has full-time, evening and weekend schedules available. We are currently seeking experienced natural hair stylists who are highly proficient in blowout / silk presses as well as twist outs, rod sets, and wash & go styles. We’re also looking for a As part of our interview process, you will have to demonstrate your skills with live models while being observed by our Lead Stylist.
As a commission based salon, there is no booth rental fees, charges for product or inventory. Curl Kitchen Salon provides all of that. You only need to bring a passion for healthy hair care and a willingness to be a part of one of the fastest growing salon teams in the country.
Work Hours:
We have flexible schedules but we will need our newly hired stylist to be consistently available when our client demand is at its highest. We are open 7 days a week and require all newly hired stylists to be able to work a total of at least 12 hours between Friday and Sunday. Additional days and hours are at the discretion of the newly hired stylist but our busiest times tend to be between 1pm and 9pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Hours Needing to be Fulfilled: Monday - Friday 9am -3pm or 3-8pm, Saturdays 8am -3pm or 3pm -8pm, Sunday 9am-5pm. Hours are flexible based on your availability.
Job Type: Commission (from 45% to 60% based on weekly services and type of service offered)
Salary: $20,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year depending on hours and ability to retain clients

• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs and delivering personalized hair styling services, including blowouts and hair extensions.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with cosmetology standards.
• Utilize salon software, such as Vagaro, for appointment scheduling and client management.
• Stay updated on color theory and trends to offer informed recommendations.
• Mentor junior stylists and assist with retail sales and product recommendations.
