Description
MTSI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Engineer to join our team supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile platform. This position focuses on providing engineering expertise for mission-critical systems and components in THAAD electronics, including development, integration, testing, and lifecycle management. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance system performance, sustainability, and overall capability as part of the Department of Defense's cutting-edge missile defense solutions. Responsibilities Provide engineering support for the Inertial Navigation Unit (IMU) and lead development on its Refresh Program (IMU-R) to ensure robust and reliable navigation capabilities. Support the design, integration, and upgrades for the Two Axis Rate Sensor (TARS), ensuring precise rate measurement and control. Oversee engineering tasks for the Laser Ignition Ordnance System (LIOS) and related laser-initiated ordnance components, focusing on safe operation and high reliability during missions. Collaborate on the existing THAAD Mission Computer (MC) system and drive innovation for the Next Generation Mission Computer (NGMC), leveraging advanced technologies to enhance computing power, functionality, and operational efficiency. Provide technical leadership for the Kill Vehicle Battery (KVB), supporting power system reliability and performance. Enable mission-critical communication processes through the Telemetry Master Encoder (TME-Lite) for data transmission during flight operations. Lead efforts on the Thrust Vector Actuator - Refresh (TVA-R) program to optimize missile steering and propulsion control systems for enhanced accuracy and responsiveness during high-altitude engagements. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive development and upgrades for high-performance technologies across THAAD systems, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense specifications and mission goals. Actively contribute to planning and testing to meet program milestones and improve system reliability, redundancy, and sustainability. Required Qualifications: MS/MA degree and 12+ years of experience. Active Secret Clearance Experience in electronics system design, development, and testing within the aerospace or defense industry. Knowledge and experience with inertial navigation systems, rate sensors, ordnance systems, and telemetry equipment is preferred. Strong proficiency in electronics engineering principles, hardware integration, and control systems development. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Desired Qualifications Prior experience working on missile defense systems or similar complex systems engineering programs. Expertise in development and lifecycle support for mission-critical systems such as batteries, actuators, and computing modules. #LI-AS1
