This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability. SUMMARY: Assists with the daily operations of the Bistro, including front of the house and the kitchen. Coordinates and trouble shoot functions to ensure that guests are given superior service. This is done by performing the following functions directly or through others. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Consults with the Food and Beverage Manager about serving arrangements, additional associates and equipment needed for Bistro - Will mainly work mornings to support the AM team. Will be scheduled when busy or when F&B Manager is off. Shifts may vary. - Covers bistro shifts if needed, short staffed or in an emergency. - Assists with training for bistro staff. - Needs to be Servsafe certified. - Needs to be TIPS certified - Enforces and upholds health department and Marriott policies and standards. - Responsible for following and enforcing Marriott QA standards. - Responsible for overall restaurant cleanliness - Oversees and help maintain the grotto standards and cleanliness - Maintain bookings for the Gallery/Open Table—ensuring all bookings have the details needed - Ensures that all associates act in a highly professional, respectful manner at all times. - Ability to direct all associates to maintain a strictly professional level of guest service. - Assists with scheduling for the Bistro - Attends department meetings in F&B Managers absence - Enforces the hotels green policies - Assists with handling and documenting of employee issues with staff. - Aid to meet and exceed our F&B financial goals - Assist with Bistro inventory and orders - Aid to meet and exceed our F&B Guest Voice goals while also aiding to respond to reviews - Maintains a positive working relationship with other departments. REQUIRED SKILLS: - Shift management and delegation - Complaint resolution and service recovery - Food Safety knowledge - Alcohol service compliance - Cash handling - Inventory management and ordering EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED). - Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
