The Council of the ESRI is seeking a dynamic and accomplished leader to take on the role of Director/Chief Executive Officer to drive forward its impact on public policy and society. Reporting to the Council of the ESRI, the Director will be responsible for the overall leadership of the Institute, enhancing its excellent reputation, promoting its development, and ensuring its financial sustainability. Working as an ex-officio member of the Council, the Director will shape and deliver the Institute’s strategic direction, maintain a culture of excellence, and represent the ESRI in various public and policy forums. They will prepare and lead the implementation of the Institute’s research strategy founded on its independence and commitment to excellence, secure funding, engage with and build stakeholder relationships, and uphold the Institute’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. The Director will also oversee the Institute’s compliance with statutory requirements, and lead the professional development of its people.
