TEMPORARY FULL-TIME POSITION - RATED ‘OUTSTANDING’

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join The SEEDS Residential and Short Break Service—a trauma-informed, therapeutic provision dedicated to supporting young people and families through meaningful, relationship-based care. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed Support Worker to join our dynamic team.
SEEDS offers residential stays, outreach, and direct work sessions for young people aged 10–17, many of whom are on the edge of care. Our approach is rooted in best practice, therapeutic principles, and a deep commitment to building positive, lasting relationships. We pride ourselves on making a genuine difference in the lives of those we support.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic care and interventions to a small caseload of young people most of whom are supported under Child Protection Plans. You will:

  • Provide trauma-informed, relationship-based support
  • Undertake direct work with young people and families
  • Promote safeguarding in line with individual care plans
  • Respond to crisis situations with flexibility and professionalism
  • Maintain high-quality records, including observations, plans, and risk assessments
  • Prepare accurate, evidence-based reports for meetings, reflecting the voices of young people and their families

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Highly motivated and emotionally intelligent
  • Therapeutic in approach and creative in practice
  • Caring, enthusiastic, and resilient
  • Skilled in communication and able to build trust with young people and families
  • Knowledgeable about Children’s Homes Regulations and relevant legislation

You’ll be welcomed as a valued member of the SEEDS team, with access to comprehensive training, professional support, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable young people.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People, or a related field (e.g. Youth Work, Childcare)
  • Willingness to work varied hours on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, nights, and bank holidays
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development
If you need more information, please contact Melanie Coglan on 01254 202405 or alternatively 07483170429
