QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Related experience, preferably experience in a customer service or hospitality industry, for example: banquets, cafes, restaurants, bar, movie theatres staff, etc.

Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

The Theatre Attendant I (TA I) is responsible for providing patron services at the VCT venues: the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn (formerly QET Plaza), the Orpheum, the Vancouver Playhouse, and the Annex. The TA I duties include Ushering, Ticket Taking, Coat Check in front of house, and Sales at concessions. The TA I plays a key role in patron safety and evacuation procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides outstanding and positive customer service to patrons.
  • Assumes duties within the VCT Fire Plan, as required, including but not limited to guiding patrons to exits or aiding in emergency situations.
  • Attends pre-shift briefings and makes note of event specific instructions, timings and special requirements.
  • Maintains order and ensures adherence to safety rules.
  • Settles seating disputes or helps to resolve other patron concerns.
  • Participates in programme stuffing and distribution.
  • Ensures items for sale are correctly counted, displayed, that there is adequate stock on hand, and calls for replenishments to optimum levels as needed.
  • Ensures cleanliness of sales locations and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the TA II/III.
