Theatre Hospital Porter (39 hours per week permanent contract)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre/Hospital Porter to join the Bon Secours Health System Hospital Galway. Ireland’s Largest Private Healthcare provider.
Job Purpose:
To provide assistance to the operating department in the transfer and positioning of patients. Preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment within the department, in particular, floors and equipment.

Minimum Leaving Cert. qualification

Essential Qualifications:
Leaving Cert qualification is required, desirable previous general maintenance/portering experience.
Responsibilities and Experience:
Works closely with Theatre Manager and all grades of theatre staff to ensure that a high standard of patient care is maintained.
Responsible for the safe transfer of patients to/from theatres.
Responsible for safe transfer of patients on to and off operating table.
Responsible for delivery of specimens to lab and collection of blood for theatre.
Carries out general handyman duties as required.
The position will include:
Clinical Skills- Theatre preparation for various surgeries.
Preparation of Theatres - Between surgical procedures & Cleaning of Theatres.
Patient care – Collecting patients and returning to wards post-surgery.
General Porter daily duties as per Job Description.
