About the Role Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, the Theatre Receptionist / Clerk is responsible for managing the clerical administration of the Perioperative Suite while supporting Nurse Unit Managers and clinical staff with day-to-day administrative functions. As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, surgeons and staff, you will provide exceptional customer service both face-to-face and over the phone in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, VMOs and staff Respond to phone enquiries and manage front desk operations within the Theatre Department Coordinate theatre administration and departmental clerical support Maintain accurate patient perioperative data, prosthesis codes and CMBS item numbers Schedule appointments and support departmental diary management Process medical observer requests and surgical assistant documentation Assist with roster input, presentation preparation, filing, archiving and report typing Manage locker allocations and departmental records Order stationery and medical supplies as required Utilise hospital systems including IBA, Riskman, BEIMS and other internal platforms Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain theatre reception manuals Ensure compliance with infection control, WHS and hospital policies and procedures About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience in a healthcare clerical, administration or receptionist role Strong customer service experience in a fast-paced environment Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills Strong time management and multitasking abilities Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Understanding of medical terminology (desirable) Experience with hospital systems and patient management systems (desirable) Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards WHY WORK FOR ST VINCENTS PRIVATE HOSPITAL MELBOURNE St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent’s Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
