Description

Job Purpose: To support the Tech Director in setting up and managing the technical aspects of the haunted corn maze, including special effects, lighting, animatronics, pneumatics, fog machines, sound, and projections. The Tech Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the technical elements contribute effectively to the eerie and engaging atmosphere of the event.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with technical production in events, theatre, or similar settings.
  • Practical knowledge of lighting, sound, and special effects equipment.
  • Technical acumen, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with the Tech Director and other team members.
  • A proactive approach to learning and implementing new technologies and techniques.
  • Physical capability to work in different environments and carry out hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Tech Director in the installation and operation of various technical systems, including lighting, sound, and visual effects.
  • Set up and troubleshoot special effects, ensuring they are working correctly and safely for each performance.
  • Maintain and repair technical equipment, including animatronics and pneumatics, to keep them in optimal working condition.
  • Operate fog machines, sound systems, and projections during events, adhering to the cues and schedules set by the Tech Director.
  • Assist in the coordination of technical elements with the overall production schedule, ensuring seamless integration with the event’s thematic elements.
  • Provide hands-on support during load-ins, tech rehearsals, performances, and load-outs.
  • Help manage inventory and maintenance schedules for all technical equipment.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology in special effects and technical production to suggest improvements and innovations.
