Job Title: Theatre Nurse – Scrub Practitioner (Ophthalmic) Hours: Monday–Friday | 08:00–18:00 | Ad hoc shifts Pulse Nursing is excited to announce that we have secured a new contract with a valued client and are now recruiting for ad hoc shift support across Swansea and Somerset. We are seeking dedicated Theatre Scrub Nurses or Practitioners, ideally with Ophthalmic experience. Training can be provided for the right candidates. Key Responsibilities • Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all required equipment and consumables are available and sterile. • Assist the surgical team during ophthalmic procedures, maintaining strict aseptic technique. • Deliver high-quality patient care throughout the peri-operative journey. • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient theatre flow. • Maintain accurate and clear patient documentation in line with professional standards. • Uphold all health and safety, infection control, and clinical governance requirements. Pay Rates Shift Type PAYE Umbrella Weekdays £32.50 £36.98 Saturday £35.00 £39.83 Sunday £38.00 £43.24 Travel Requirements 🚗 Some flexibility is required to work across multiple sites within your designated region. Requirements • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin or Registered ODP (HCPC). • Experience as a Scrub Practitioner—Ophthalmic experience preferred, training available. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced theatre environments. • Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development.
