THEMED ENVIRONMENT DESIGNER

Kingdom Productions is a Design/Build company specializing in the planning, design and building of immersive themed environments. Our expertise includes architectural area development, dimensional signage, icons, exhibits, character figures, and modular structures for theme parks, water parks, zoos, aquariums, and museums.
Role Summary:
The Themed Environment Designer will play a key role in driving creative ideation and contributing to schematic-level design development for a diverse range of projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Design Director, design staff, sales team, project managers, in-house fabrication specialists, and external partners to ensure cohesive and innovative project execution.
You will engage in all phases of the creative process, from initial ideation to schematic-level design development, ensuring that the design intent is clearly communicated and fully realized. The ideal candidate will possess a strong creative vision and the technical expertise needed to excel in delivering unique, high-quality designs across our specialty areas.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in client meetings.
- Contribute to design team ideation and brainstorming sessions.
- Research, gather, and present thematic image references to support project concepts.
- Create and refine preliminary concept sketches that align with project goals.
- Develop and present conceptual-level materials, including: Sketches, plans, elevations, and section drawings; Renderings, 3D models, and 3D visualizations.
- Prepare schematic-level presentation materials with detailed plans, elevations, sections, and design specifications.
- Format and assemble drawing and presentation packages for client or internal review.
- Coordinate design materials and shop drawings to ensure seamless fabrication.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Design Team during design review sessions.
- Travel to job sites or client meetings as necessary to support project needs.
Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of applicable industry experience.
- Strong sketching and perspective drawing skills.
- Proficiency in design software, including: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). 3D modeling/rendering tools (e.g., SketchUp, Twin Motion, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar).
- Proficiency in productivity software including: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Microsoft Teams for internal communications and a file server. Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams for conferencing.
