The Role This full-time role (40 hours/week) provides structured, one-on-one, strengths-based support to youth in coordination with the HUB behavioral health provider to implement treatment and care plans addressing mental health, behavioral, and emotional needs. Therapeutic Mentors (TM) engage youth in therapeutic interventions to address goals identified in treatment plans/care plans through; social, recreational, athletic, artistic, education, or daily-living skills. Therapeutic Mentors maintain contact with caregivers and collaterals and document progress towards identified goals and attend all care plan meetings. Therapeutic Mentors conduct telephone contact and face-to-face meetings with collaterals to remain updated on youth's progress towards treatment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * A Therapeutic Mentor offers structured, one on one, strength-based support services. Therapeutic Mentors work with youth for the purpose of addressing daily living, social, and communication needs * Engage youth in therapeutic interventions to address goals identified in treatment plans through; social, recreational, athletic, artistic, education, or daily living skills * Works collaboratively with the HUB, (behavioral health provider) and caregiver as a team to ensure implementation of the goals and objectives identified in the treatment plan are being accomplished * Advocate for and access resources (including other CBHI services) to address the youth’s emotional and mental health needs * Participate in all care plan meetings for youth * Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry assignments in a timely manner Required skills, education & experience * Must be 21 years old, have a valid driver license without restrictions and have reliable transportation * Requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and one year experience working with children/adolescent’s or a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with children/adolescents/transitional age youth * Must be fluent in Spanish * Use good judgment and maintain effective boundaries when interacting with all members of the staff and the community at large * Experience in navigating any of the child/family-serving systems and experience advocating for family members who are involved with behavioral health systems * Ability to reason effectively and interpret a variety of instructions, written and oral * Must demonstrate excellent written/verbal communication skills, be willing to learn about child/youth mental health issues Salary & Benefits * Health, dental, and vision insurance (full-time) * Retirement plan options (eligible roles) * Growth opportunities with access to online CEU/professional development * Employee discounts on thousands of products and services * Supportive, mission-driven team environment ABOUT CSR  Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR) is one of Massachusetts’ largest Black-led nonprofits, providing holistic services to 6,000+ children and families each year.
