Description

You will start as a Band 4, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will transition into a Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer.
You will participate in a 3 year BSc Radiotherapy Apprenticeship programme that combines face-to-face, work-based and online learning with teaching at University of Hertfordshire. The rest of the learning is based in the Radiotherapy department at the Charing Cross & Hammersmith Hospitals with extensive online interaction, requiring a combination of directed and independent studies alongside hands-on patient-facing clinical experience.
You will have protected time to study relevant scientific and theoretical knowledge and skills; through clinical patient-facing practice, you will develop the skills and expertise required to work in all areas of the Radiotherapy department.
When you are not training you will be working within the radiotherapy department carrying out tasks within your scope of practice and building on these as you progress.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual interested in providing a high standard of care to patients undergoing radiotherapy. The ability to work and communicate well with people is essential. All course tuition fees associated with the degree apprenticeship will be covered by the apprenticeship levy.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will transition into a Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer.
This apprenticeship requires a right to work and does not attract a certificate of sponsorship.
The Therapeutic Radiographer apprenticeship programme combines and integrates work-based and traditional academic learning. You can expect to spend up to 80% of your time on-the-job, in a productive role and at least 20% of your time learning off the job.
Training will be completed through a combination of attending face-to-face and/or virtual sessions delivered by the Higher Education Institution, where support will be given to empower you to complete and pass the theoretical and academic components and assessments. You will also complete a range of clinical placements, observations and work-based assessments as required by the degree apprenticeship programme. These aspects will be completed within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where registered professionals will support you.
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care.
