The estimated salary for this position will vary based on a candidate's transferable work experience and qualifications. Salary ranges start at $53,079 per year. The range provided is just one component of total compensation including a comprehensive benefit package of affordable medical plans, employer paid dental, vision and long-term disability, 401(K), flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent, paid time off, 11 paid holidays. As a therapist, you will be responsible for: Primary responsibility is to participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations, and direct treatment for adults and families. Assess and document the needs of clients who present themselves for outpatient mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse services utilizing Person-Centered Planning principals. Provide individual and group therapy. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the client and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel and other family service or support people. Must meet all of the contractual requirements of the funding sources and/or agency, including maintaining State licensure. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center. Follow a professional code of ethics. Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure. Complete 24 hours of training in the treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Other duties as needed. Requirements To qualify for this position, you will need the following: Must have a minimum of a master’s degree in social work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. This period may be extended by up to an additional 60 days of training at the sole discretion of the employer. Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness. Must be able to work independently. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must have excellent organizational and attention to detail skills in order to track and prepare data accurately and timely. Must have the ability interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Individual programs may have additional requirements. Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with youth and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible.
