COMPANY DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Completion of Post-Secondary Education in Psychology or equivalent. Education in progress will also be considered. Specific client and program training will be provided.
· Training/education in applied behaviour analysis and / or child development.
· Broad professional knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
· Experience working with families with children with special needs is preferred.
· Knowledge of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
· Practical experience in collecting, graphing and analyzing data.
· Strong ability to work independently is essential.
· Strong ability to demonstrate support and sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support families in a manner that is respectful and professional.
· Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze problems.
This position is for an independent contractor and considered a self-employment opportunity. A Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor/BCBA team contracts the services of the Instructor Therapist for their clients. Contractors are responsible for their own transportation, session materials, income tax, vacation and sick time. Contracted Instructors have the right to agree to or refuse offered clients according to their availability and range from a couple hours a week to full time. Hourly rates range from $25 depending on experience. Locations serviced are anywhere across Brampton, Mississauga, Milton, Oakville, Burlington, and Hamilton.

· Works with children, one-on-one and in-group settings, to implement the plan developed by the Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.
· Collection and recording of data. All materials for programs will be provided by families, found in the home environment, or can be instructor’s personal materials to promote generalization.
· Monitors Individual’s progress and communicates with the Senior Therapist and Clinical Supervisor
· Updates parents and team through verbal and written/emailed communication on Individual’s progress and supports parents in their understanding of IBI/ABA techniques.
· Arrives to sessions prepared with personal reinforcement materials
· This position supports children starting at age 18 months through primary school age, preteens and teenagers
