Description:

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counsellor or Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health needs of our patients, particularly children. This position requires a strong understanding of patient care, case management, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare setting. The Mental Health Technician will assist in providing therapeutic support, monitoring patient behavior, and ensuring a safe environment for all individuals in our care.

I AM VERY FRIENDLY AND THIS WILL BE A SAFE SPACE FOR YOU TO GAIN EXPERIENCE, HOME YOUR SKILLS, AND DEVELOP INTO A CONFIDENT CLINICIAN. THIS CAN BE A COLLABORATIVE EXPERIENCE.

I have a dog that comes with me to my sessions. If you have a dog that is well behaved, well mannered, and may be a good fit i would be interested in entertaining the thought of welcoming them as well.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum experience is required. <1-2 years experience appropriate. I welcome and encourage new clinicians to apply!
  • Advanced clinicians (2-3 years in practice) may be considered but you will still be expected to build a low cost caseload which would be more suitable for someone with less experience. Please reach out if you think you may also be a good fit for the role and have ideas on how we can develop the program.
  • Familiarity with strategies and common approaches is beneficial as is familiarity with the population that you would like to work with.
  • Experience in case management is preferred, but simply during your practicum is fine.
  • A background in patient care or similar roles will be considered an asset.
  • Having a nice personality will be an asset (Clearly).

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA AND EDUCATION:

*Must hold at a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Master’s of Social Work (MSW) or Master’s of Counselling Psychology (MACP) or equivalent to qualify for the position. No exceptions at this time. You must have basic qualifications for the role.
*
Must be familiar with and merry ethical standards!
* Must meet and adhere to licensure or registration standards appropriate for your field. Qualifying for licensure or registration while being followed by a supervisor is appropriate. Counsellors apart of CCPA only can apply but will need to meet licensure standards to advance in the position/role.
I will ask for references on your application and all of them must be professional, work experience, or education related. I want to know that you are qualified and can handle the job.
*
A desire to work in private practice. As we grow you can help build and formulate your own position/role. Fixed in-person hours during the week (shared office with me), however can build an abundant virtual client base as well. If you build your caseload to be considered full time hours (20 direct client hours per week) then we can discuss appropriate benefit packages for your long term success with this company. *

This is a new role for RRCS so as we grow you can grow in to the role. as you develop as a clinician you can transition in a more profitable role. This job is for someone that is trained but more inexperienced, as you gain experience you can possibly choose to come on full time. as we grow so will you.
Because this is a new program that I will be starting, and it is standard with most private practice work, it can take time to build up your case load. That’s okay. It often takes a good while to build a following. Because of the nature of this program that may not be the case (hopefully not) but as with anything good things take time.
If you think you may be a good fit for this role please contact me directly.
My contact number is (902) 577-3550

Cover letter ideas:
Twill me about yourself and why you feel like you would be a good fit for this job.
Tell me what made you become a clinician/counsellor.
While keeping professionalism in mind I am significantly more interested in knowing who you are and why you want this job. If you are the right fit we can build this program around you, your needs, and your goals as a clinician. I am happy to support you and grow together as a team.
I am excited to hear from you!

Funding for future advancement of skills may be considered after some time in the role.
I only have one space for this role at this time therefore I will be selective with the interviewing process. I am looking for the right fit for the company.
