Centrepeace Counselling & Therapy Services is a private practice offering counselling to youth ages 10+, individual adults, adult relationships, and families. Most of our services cater to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the neurodivergent community and other marginalized groups. We are located just West of downtown London, Ontario.
We are a group of skilled and passionate therapists and interns that offer support for symptoms of depression and anxiety, and stress and overwhelm; struggles with emotion regulation; relationship and family strain; parenting and co-parenting issues; identity exploration; minority stress; racism; homophobia; transphobia; ableism; and other forms of discrimination. Our services are predominantly offered in-person. We see our clients’ situations from an intersectional lens, and use an eclectic array of theoretical frameworks to inform the work we do.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Centrepeace C&TS is searching for a Registered Social Worker (MSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) to add to our team.
We are seeking an authentic, creative and dedicated individual with knowledge and experience specifically related to working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ population.
We are looking for someone with in-person availability during at least one of these times: Tuesday or Thursday (4pm-8pm), and/or Saturdays (9am-2pm). Virtual sessions outside of these times may be available and can be done from the therapist’s home at a time that works for the therapist.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- You are trained in, experienced with and passionate about supporting members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ population
- You have training and experience working with individual adults and/or youth and families, and/or couples/adult relationships (including non-monogamous relationships)
- You have experience and training in at least four of these areas: family planning and/or infertility; trauma treatment/support; ADHD, Autism, neurodivergence; disAbilities and/or chronic pain/illness; social and medical transitioning; disordered eating, anxiety, depression, OCD, and/or substance abuse; ableism, discrimination, racism; IPV or sexual abuse counselling
- You work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens
- You work well as part of a diverse and passionate team
- You are able to work a minimum of 5 paid hours per week
- You adhere to your profession’s code of ethics and standards of practice
- You have a home office space and reliable internet that are suitable for virtual sessions and meetings, when needed
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Masters degree or higher in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or other equivalent field of study, with current registration and liability insurance in Ontario
- Experience using therapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) or Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), EMDR, and/or other trauma-informed approaches
- Minimum two years clinical practice experience (will consider relevant internships/ practicum experience as part of this experience)
- Participation in regular consultation, supervision and professional development activities within and outside of Centrepeace
