The Therapist I - Respiratory possesses novice knowledge of Pediatric and/or Neonatal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology. S/he has novice knowledge and clinical acumen in the use of all medical devices and techniques used in respiratory therapy for the Pediatric and/or Neonatal patient population. S/he demonstrates professional skills relevant to patient assessment, disease identification and evaluation, and administration of clinical therapeutic, interventional, and diagnostic care. S/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills to participate in the education of the patient, family and the public. The Respiratory Therapist I is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard. The Respiratory Therapist I participates in the supervision and teaching of more junior and new members of staff within the department. Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist I is responsible for providing clinical therapeutic, interventional, and diagnostic care to pediatric and neonatal patients. They also participate in the supervision and training of junior staff members while ensuring high standards of patient care.
