The Therapist I - Respiratory possesses novice knowledge of Pediatric and/or Neonatal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology. S/he has novice knowledge and clinical acumen in the use of all medical devices and techniques used in respiratory therapy for the Pediatric and/or Neonatal patient population.   S/he demonstrates professional skills relevant to patient assessment, disease identification and evaluation, and administration of clinical therapeutic, interventional, and diagnostic care. S/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills to participate in the education of the patient, family and the public. The Respiratory Therapist I is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard.  The Respiratory Therapist I participates in the supervision and teaching of more junior and new members of staff within the department.
