Schedule/Shift: FT ( Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
We are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team at Baylor Scott and White The Heart Hospital Plano. This role involves evaluating and treating patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, heart failure and other cardiovascular conditions to improve their functional independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care and a passion for working with patients recovering from complex medical conditions.

JOB SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapist 1 plans, organizes, and provides services in therapeutic programs. Clinical practice includes evaluation and therapy planning to help rehabilitate individuals with disabilities. Works closely with patients and families to meet treatment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Masters’ or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
Responsibilities
  • Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
  • Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff.
  • Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
  • Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
  • Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national and state regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.
