This role contributes to efficient patient flow by setting up equipment, assisting with basic patient support activities under direct therapist supervision, and completing routine departmental upkeep. Working closely with therapists and front-desk staff, the Therapy Aide also provides customer service and administrative support by greeting patients, answering phones, assisting with scheduling needs, and creating a welcoming experience for patients and families. Through dependable support, attention to detail, and collaboration, this position helps the therapy team deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a well-coordinated clinical setting. Key Responsibilities: Prepare treatment rooms and therapy equipment for scheduled sessions, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness for patient use. Assist therapists with patient care–related tasks as delegated and supervised, such as helping position patients, gathering supplies, and facilitating safe transitions within the department. Maintain department organization through daily cleaning tasks, equipment checks, stocking of supplies, and assistance with ordering or inventory needs. Provide administrative support by greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing documents, and supporting efficient front-desk operations. Observe and follow safety procedures, infection-prevention practices, and equipment-handling protocols to support a safe therapeutic environment. Support continuous workflow by communicating effectively with therapists, administrative staff, patients, and families. QualificationsLicenses and Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 30 days of hire. Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Requirements: Healthcare experience preferred. Special Skills or Training Requirements: Read/understand written treatment plans. Basic interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with patients, families, staff, and physicians and to perform activities requiring ordinary courtesy and tact. On-the-job training is required to become familiar with various procedures, techniques, and safety precautions. Basic computer skills are required. Physical Requirements: The Therapy Aide is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and assist with movement of therapy equipment and supplies. The role may involve supporting patient mobility activities and lifting or carrying items such as treatment tools, linens, and light-to-moderate equipment. Adequate strength, coordination, vision, and communication abilities are necessary to safely assist therapists, respond to patient needs, and navigate an active clinical environment. Environmental Requirements: Work is performed in an outpatient therapy clinic with exposure to varying activity levels, exercise equipment, cleaning agents, and close patient interaction. The role may involve periods of high patient volume, frequent interruptions, and the need to adapt to shifting therapist schedules. Adherence to infection-control standards, safe equipment practices, and organizational safety policies is essential to maintain a healthy and safe environment for patients and staff.
