Description
Engages with ODM development and/or sub supplier partners on thermal solution design, development, and validation of leading-edge notebook / DT /AiO. Applies advanced knowledge of architecture and methodologies for thermal design. Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on thermal and performance design and development. Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality. Provides domain-specific expertise and overall thermal/performance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities. Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the thermal and performance design organization. Represents the thermal architecture team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects. Evaluate and select appropriate cooling technologies, such as liquid cooling, air cooling and heat sinks, to ensure efficient heat dissipation and thermal management. Lead thermal validation and testing activities, including thermal chamber testing, thermal cycling and acoustic noise test. Develop and execute test plans to validate and ensure optimal system thermal management, fan control and acoustic performance. Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members. Impacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. LI-POST Job - Engineering Schedule - Full time Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Thermal Fluids. Typically 10+ years experience in thermal design and analysis for complex hardware systems. Experience with fan, heat pipe, and vapor chamber design Experience relating skin temperature, fan control algorithm, acoustics, and system Performance. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience using various thermal interface materials. Designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes. Using CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solution. Proficiency in using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software for thermal/mechanical design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
