We are looking for a Thermofluids Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Derby Hybrid on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Thermofluids Engineer to join our global Fluid Mechanics capability within the Design Engineering and Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) function. You will contribute to the definition, analysis and optimisation of complex thermal and fluid systems across disciplines such as Air Systems, Liquid Systems (Fuel, Oil & Heat Management), Temperature Analysis, Thermo-Mechanical Analysis, and Fire, Ventilation and Drainage (FV&D).

Responsibilities

  • Define system, sub-system and component requirements for thermofluid, temperature and thermo-mechanical analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate concepts using analytical methods to support system-level design trades and architecture selection.
  • Perform modelling, simulation and verification at component and system level across the product lifecycle.
  • Plan and conduct validation activities including test specification, model calibration and uncertainty quantification.

Criteria

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher (or regional equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Demonstrate proactive ownership, high self-motivation, and strong customer focus.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate confidently with peers and technical leaders.
  • Ideally have experience in thermal, mechanical, or fluid systems, and be working toward Chartered status with a relevant professional body
