Description

Brief Summary :
As an Optical Thin Film Engineer, you’ll drive design strategies, operational optimization, and client satisfaction. Your responsibilities include optics-focused coating design, process optimization, technical support, and staff training.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Design optical coatings to meet customers’ and internal specifications.
  • Develop and implement coating designs and processes to optimize efficiencies and yields while minimizing costs.
  • Optimize chamber configurations for the deposition of optical thin films.
  • Provide technical support in maintaining coating operations.
  • Maintain documents and records of processes and procedures relevant to design, development, and production.
  • Report project status and progress to supervisor regularly and accurately.
  • Train production staff in the operation of precision optical coating processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related field.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in optics manufacturing/Solar/Semiconductor/Vacuum industry/ Thin film back ground with at least 1-2 years in optical coating design and production.
  • Experience in optical Thin film coatings manufacturing environment is advantageous & preferred
  • Knowledge of modern thin film coating production technologies including thermal evaporation, electron beam evaporation, ion-assisted deposition, and magnetron sputtering is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Optical Principles, Optical Coatings, Optical Design, Optical Fabrication, Optical Physics, Opto-Mechanical principles, and other technical areas within the Optical Industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in utilizing design software such as TFCalc, Filmstar, Macleod or Optilayer.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently, as well as in teams.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills.
