Sompo International offers an exceptional opportunity for a Third-Party Risk Manager to become a key member of the Global Third-Party Risk Management team within the Global Procurement function. Our business, Your impact, Shared opportunity Role Overview: Sompo International is undergoing a significant transformation to enhance its Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) capabilities through the delivery of a new Global Target Operating Model (TOM). This transformation leverages advanced global technology to streamline processes, strengthen risk mitigation, and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory standards. As a Third-Party Risk Manager, you will be at the forefront of this initiative, driving the development and implementation of global policies, frameworks, and risk management systems while working closely with diverse stakeholders across a dynamic and complex international organization. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead TPRM change initiatives, establish new capabilities, and work closely with the Global Head of Third-Party Risk Management to deliver a best-in-class TPRM function. What you’ll be doing: Policy and Framework Development: Contribute to and support the implementation, and continuous improvement of third-party risk management policies, standards, frameworks, and governance structures to align with regulatory and industry standards, including PRA, SX2, GDPR, DORA, CSDDD and CSRD. Ensure the development of practical risk based standardised processes, guidelines, and tools to support consistent third-party risk management across the organization. Global Technology Implementation: Contribute to and support the rollout of a global third-party risk management technology platform, set to go live in February 2026, by collaborating with global stakeholders (contract owners, Data Privacy, InfoSec, Resilience, Legal, Procurement, Compliance) and ensuring alignment with business requirements. Lead efforts to integrate new technology into existing processes, facilitating adoption across global service centres, regional teams, risk and compliance functions. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly outlined, facilitate testing processes, and oversee final sign-off. Capability Development and TOM: Collaborate closely with global service centers and regional TPRM teams to implement the new Target Operating Model (TOM), driving the development of third-party risk management capabilities such as training programs, monitoring frameworks, and tools to improve operational efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance. Lead the identification and implementation of best practices for third-party risk assessments, monitoring, and reporting across a complex, regulated global insurance environment. Partner with external service provider delivering TPRM operations to Sompo International offices, ensuring alignment with the organization's TPRM TOM strategy and actively contributing to the development of robust capabilities. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships and Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Legal, Risk Compliance, Finance, IT, and operations within global service centres, to align risk management strategies with organizational goals. Act as the key point of contact and provide guidance for third-party risk management in cross-enterprise initiatives, fostering collaboration and addressing risk-related inquiries effectively. People Leadership & Collaboration Support and mentor team members across the (local) TPRM network Deputise for the Head of Third Party Risk Management in managing day to day team operations, priorities and performance Foster a collaborative and continuous improvement culture with the TPRM function. Risk Oversight and Reporting: Track emerging risks and regulatory changes, collaborate with the relevant risk and compliance SME teams to gain deeper insights, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders while aligning with enterprise-wide risk management strategies. Develop reporting and provide regular updates on the status of TPRM initiatives, operational, compliance, and risk exposure metrics to senior leadership, relevant forums and committees. Support the establishment and management of the Global Third-Party Risk Forum and participate in internal meetings as required. Driving Change: Support organizational change initiatives related to third-party risk management, fostering agility and resilience across global teams. Analyze opportunities for improvement, challenge the status quo, and drive the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance risk management practices. What you’ll bring: Experience: Relevant experience within Third Party Risk Management in a financial services, insurance or other regulated environment. Proven ability to lead and drive changes in third-party risk management, including developing policies, implementing standards, frameworks (e.g. due diligence, risk and criticality assessments, ongoing monitoring, exit plans and audits), and executing risk management initiatives. Technical Expertise: Supported implementation or worked with third-party risk management technology platforms (e.g., Certa AI, Process Unity, MetricStream, Coupa Risk Assess, D&B, Workcheck). Supported implementation of Target Operating Models (TOM) for TPRM and transitioning to BAU (i.e establishing and enhancing global TPRM capabilities and services). Strong knowledge of third-party risk management practices and regulatory requirements, including PRA IBS, SX2 Critical Outsourcing, GDPR, DORA, CSDDD, CSRD, and other relevant frameworks. Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across a complex global organization, including senior leaders, internal and external service providers and cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, address feedback, and drive alignment across the business. Change Management: Resilient and agile in driving organizational change, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement. Proven ability to support complex multi-year projects, from planning and execution to successful delivery, within deadlines and budgets.
