Description Job Summary: The Plating Technician will use a variety of chemical materials to coat the surface of metal parts. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Duties/Responsibilities: Racks and unracks parts. Monitors line during production. Loads and unloads plating barrels. Completes quality checks with measurement equipment. Enters job information into computer. Reads and understands work instructions and quality inspection standards and applies the documents in a fast-paced production system. Maintains safe work practices and procedures in the plating area; uses proper safety equipment correctly. Maintains a safe and clean area around chemical storage area, filtration, regeneration and recovering equipment. Operates machinery in a safe manner. Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor. Skills: Knowledge of basic plating on metal. Basic computer skills. Mechanical inclination. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Abilities: Function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Follow instructions and processes (written, oral, diagram, or schedule form). Solve problems quickly and efficiently. Work well with others on a team. Work with a sense of urgency. Willingness to have performance measured daily. Preferred Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment. Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing / pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day. Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day. Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work. Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
